Ohio State Checker Tournament -- August 25 & 26, 2018 -- Lyndhurst, Ohio (at Mark Sokolovsky’s residential complex party room)
Entry fee is $10.00.  Registration on Saturday from 9:00-9:30 am, with play beginning at 9:30 am.  Seven rounds of play using 3-move restriction (156-opening deck).
Scheduled as 4 Rounds Saturday and 3 Sunday.

The party room is located off I-271 in Lyndhurst, Ohio. Exit I-271 to Brainard Rd. (heading South). Turn Left at Cedar Rd. at same interchange.  Go 0.2 miles and turn left into Georgetown complex (29033 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst, OH 44124).  If the gate is down, enter “172” into the panel.  Then proceed forward, turn left onto York Dr. and turn right onto Glouchester.  The party room is a small brick building on the right.  ACF membership (full or associate) required.  Area hotels include Super 8 (855-799-6862) in Beachwood (to the South), and Motel 6 (866-599-6674) or Skylight Inn (440-278-4136) in Willoughby (off I-90 & OH-91 interchange to the North).

  Congratulations to Alex Moiseyev, who has held state title sice 2003.  There was a tie for first going into the 6th round when Alex pulled away.
  All players played as one group using 3-move.   Format was round-robin plus 2 rounds of Swiss (no 3-time re-pairing), scored by game.  
  Mark Sokolovsky visited throughout the tournament.                          
                                       
  $800 in prize money awarded.  Contributions were received from Joe LoConti ($400 plus $40 from 2017 prize),          
  Joe McDaniel ($300), Rich Beckwith (party room costs), and Alan Millhone ($10).                  
  LoConti, Beckwith, Millhone brought food and snacks.   Joe L. donated back his prize.
